Micke Johansson is a Swedish artist, designer and glassblower with his own workshop in Örsjö in Småland in the south of Sweden. Born in 1972 and educated at the glass school of Orrefors, Micke was awarded the title master glassblower at the age of 24. After working several years at the Swedish hotshops in Orrefors and in Pukeberg and after a one-year scholarship at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, USA, Micke started his own hotshop in Örsjö. He uses his craftsmanship and skills to develop new techniques that has resulted in a unique way of combining the two techniques graal and ariel in the same piece of art. Micke Johansson is also the only glassblower in the world creating glassworks in a double ariel technique.
